Ah, I love the look  / feel of this game. It would be awesome to be able to outrun foes.

Hi there, yes that fixed it. I've been online again, tooling around.

Hi there! I wish the arrow keys or WASD worked. At least for me on my browser, keyboard navigation didn't work.

Hey, I am trying to log in again, but after entering my credentials, I'm getting a black screen.
I have a pretty powerful computer without any other things running, so I'm sure its not performance (perf monitor says things are bored)...

Internet connection is broadband, very good; mousing over viewport doesn't seem to help...

Hey, having problems logging in --- after logging in with username/password, I am greeted with a blank (black) screen...

Alrighty folks -- I made the port to openGL -- WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS THAT WAS.

I am interested in the same type of feedback as before:

- rig specs
- playable?
- part of the world you are from
- any other suggestions

Also this:

how long did the "loading" screen take before it threw you out to the actual game?

Ah dude can you get a port of this to linux going?? This looks too cool.

8
Doh. When I add openGL support, the viewport will be vastly expanded (to fullscreen), so this should improve things alot.

Ah, I really dig your artwork. I got incredibly nostalgic just looking at the stills.

Hey! I dig it. First thing I noticed was that I had to tap the direction key multiple times to move around. I expected to be able to hold left down and go left until I let go. I loved your take on the FOV. Keep up the good work! Visit my project, playable here: http://www.janthus.com/game.jnlp, would love your feedback.

On man it will be so nice to have this on my dev workstation, so I can play it while taking a break from my own project (instead of rebooting into windows, which i never do except to play games that don't run in linux).  Let me know where I can post bugs so I can help you improve your game as I play it. I can also periodically post them here if you want.

First of all, +++ on using Java. Though it feels like the visual basic of game programming languages, I have found it to be a pretty good idiom in which to express my ideas (see http://www.janthus.com/game.jnlp).

Some feedback:
- delay in movement after click is distracting
- please support arrow key or wasd
- who's online would be appreciated
- music would help with the immersion

I'll explore a little more tonight, but i wanted to congratulate you on getting this far. Creating a multiplayer game is no easy task! Please check out my project too, and tell me what you think.

Thanks george. Thats a reasonably good middle of the road laptop, i am glad that it didn't feel too laggy. Its actually awesome that lag and stuttering wasn't the main problem for a change.

- When you say map size, do you mean the viewport. Or the actual size of the world?
- The graphics are basically borrowed from Reiner (see Reiner's tilesets) until I can convince a graphic designer to help me out
- The caves have a bug, you're supposed to be able to go up and down into them, thanks for pointing that out

Much appreciated!

Programming / Re: Java roguelike libraries?

This is an *awesome* LOS library I'm using in my Java roguelike (http://www.janthus.com/game.jnlp):

http://rlforj.sourceforge.net/Fov_Los.html

Highly recommended.
