I work in Local Government (it's a lot more exciting than it sounds, no really it is).

When not working, learning C++ or pipe-dreaming about what I'd like in my ideal Roguelike (and not thinking about how to actually implement that) I like to run, swim, occasionally cycle, lift free-weights, cook, read comics, write bad fiction, paint bad abstract doodleys, spend time with the lady and occasionally sleep and/or breath whilst avoiding housework, washing-up and tidying up after messy cooking/painting.

I have little experience programming outside of my new hobby and only learnt C++ as I wanted a Roguelike of my own.

Software developer for a visual effects company.  Although, I don't do any visual effects related stuff; I work on much less interesting business systems.  Lots and lots of database and web service type tasks.

One of the big reasons to work on crashRun is for the chance to work on something more "computer science-y".

Software Engineer writing Call Centre Software (yes, its as boring as it sounds)  using Delphi. I used to work for a major Telecomms company writing C and C++ under Solaris, I used the original Kharne to get my current job ;-)

I studied german linguistics and literature and since April 2007 I'm trying to find a topic relevant enough to write my Ph.D thesis about which is not as easy as it might sound, because there are many fields I'm interested it. I only know it will have something to do with computer mediated communication, electronic learning and probably (hopefully) intercultural communication. To earn money, I work at university in some projects and as part-time lecturer.

So programming roguelikes is just a hobby, and everybody is shocked to see a humanist write computer games ...

I'm a direct care professional, dealing with people with intellectual disabilities. I've also got a part-time job, and I'm trying to start a business as a professional game designer and writer.

I work for my grandfathers Ecotourism biz in Bolivia. Half of the time I am in the jungle but the other half I am trying to teach myself c++ with books and playing roguelikes.

Like someone else here, I work for the local government...

Errrr, not as "fun" as it sounds, or more fun than it sounds, actually, since I'm an IT support tech at a local school. Which includes supporting in lessons, helping teachers turn on the wireless on their (school provided) laptops (you think I'm kidding?), helping teachers download their emails when they've done something stupid like "work offline" (still not kidding), connecting two ends of a cable to the only two sockets it will fit to in the projector breakout box/laptop and pressing "Fn+F5" like they've been shown many times before(uh-huh... And these people are supposed to be teaching students how to do things? Most of them get there in the end). I'm also the web guru for the school, so if you see our webpage, then that's my fault...

Spare time? People have spare time? If I'm not eating, sleeping, working, playing computer games (currently Titan Quest: Immortal Throne or GTAIV), or developing CR, then I'm spending time with my wife (and I get to do that while I'm eating, sleeping and working as well - did I mention she's a teacher at the same school?). Does any of that sound like it's spare time to you? I always found the phrase "spare time" to be a funny one, if it's spare, you're doing nothing, right?

Oh yeah, and I'm slightly weird/irreverant/comedic... Never said I was good at it though... And I babble...

Bolivia has everything from virgen jungles to ancient mountain towns. Really worth visiting if you can handle the greedy government.

We have a property of about 60 mi2 of pure virgen jungle and when we are done building our new camp we will be doing jungle tours animal watching and a live like jungle people experience for people who want to experience that. The land is a registered animal reserve so as soon as we finish getting rid of all the gator poachers it will be a perfect place for tourists.
