Other Announcements / Re: Elona

Noa just released version 1.13 of Elona if it matters to anyone.  There has been quite a bit of translation done, but it's not 100% finished.

I've been hooked on this game a while and it's quite fun.

A review from RPGamer.

Has anyone played/seen/heard of this?  I stumbled upon this today and thought it looked interesting.  It looks like they tried to port a roguelike to a console.  Not like Diablo either. :)

If anyone has played this, what's it like?  I think I'm going to order this.  It's priced under $30.

I didn't find it to hard to figure out.  But I do agree with Krice.  An interactive equipment screen would be nice, and keep 'x' for switching your readied weapons.

I am sure there are other items that would take more precedence than this though.

I played around for this for around 5 or 10 minutes.  This is all the time I have at the moment.  So far I am liking what I see, and look forward to being able to play it longer.

I personally love skill based systems.  I am glad to see another game with one.

I'm not getting my hopes up, but it is a good sign.  Man, Duke kicks arse.  I would love to play a new one.

and other 2 invisible threats.
Hmmm, what is this?

I think he's referring to GenRogue and Guardian Angel... ;)

I too am curious about these.  The more the merrier I say.  The more time I spend playing roguelikes the less money I spend on commercial games.  To which most aren't very interesting anymore, but thats another subject.

I know what you mean.  Me personally, I am looking forward to a completed, near completed, Dwarf Fortress, Incursion, Unangband, and some others.  These will be great games.  After reading about Legerdemain, I am going to have to try that one out too.  I may have to add this one to the list also.

There is enough variety in the genre that will keep me going for a long time.

So what do you people think of JADE?  Looks like its going to be a doozy.  I hope it lives up to the hype I have seen for it.  Looking at what Thomas did to ADOM I think it will be a great roguelike.

Hello, Karzack here.  Been playing roguelikes for about 5 years off and on.  I started with ADOM and then moved to the *bands.  I am currently stuck in Dwarf Fortress and Unangband and they won't let me go.

Great site I have been around since its birth and for some reason it took me this long to register.  I guess I am a lurker more than poster.  Us *likers need to stick together and hopefully this place will become a hub.  To me it is already.
