Maybe it is not a roguelike, but it definitely is an extremely successful combination of a roguelike and a platformer.

I think the fad of calling everything a roguelike is going too far. What will be next? Tetris? After all, it also has permadeath and a randomly-generated environment, doesn't it?
This is a very good platformer, but it's not a roguelike. It's a game of reflexes and of being in the right pixel at the right time, which is not what roguelikes are about.

A perfect fusion of roguelike concepts and platformer mechanics. Spelunky rules.

It's bad and I don't know what people see in it.
And it's not even a roguelike!
