It is not grid based (I mean, the display is grid based, but it has nothing to do with the actual gameplay). For this reason it is not a roguelike IMO. Other than that, I think it is a good randomly generated cyberpunk game.

Movement is by screen but not within a screen. In the game you "move" to a different node, each node being a different room. All NPC's you PC can interact regardless of where they are placed on the map. (A hit against being a rogue-like).
Failing to complete a contract is not a "death" the only two failure options are 1)being unable to pay 500 for rent at the end of the month or 2)being fried in meat world by the security programs in a system. So the failure that you will most likely face doesn't mean a game over. (A hit against being a rogue-like).
Minimalist storyline/plot, graphics just good enough to get you through the game, lots of grinding for cash, reputation, and skill points, every contract brings your into a different looking computer network, even if you've hacked the target in a previous contract. (Solidly rogue-like in these qualities.)
The skills and software that you can accumulate gives a great deal of flexibility in how you play. Stealth play styles as well as brute force bash and grab play styles should enjoy making their character.
As far as I can tell, there is no victory. You just max out your reputation.
This game may not keep your attention for more than a few days of serious grinding but I have enjoyed it so far.
