Probability 0

There's an in-development game at the tigsource forums I thought some of you might be interested in.

It's a platformer, not a roguelike, but it has a few roguelike aspects such as a randomly generated play area and character levelling.

Basically you're this little guy descending into a dark, monster-filled abyss.  In addition to the monsters that must be either fought off or avoided, you will also be threatened by the abyss itself, with deadly spikes, perilous drops, and an eternally falling screen threatening to crush you.

To help you survive, you can gain a wide variety of unique and interesting abilities from experience dropped by enemies.  These include things like double jumping, teleportation, fist upgrades that let you do more damage or punch through walls, and various upgrades to your ranged "star" attack.

The game doesn't have an ending - the challenge is to see how deep you can go, how high of a score you can get, or how powerful you can make your character.

If any of that sounds like your type of thing, check it out here.

PS: The fluctuating "probability" numbers are your health.  If they're hovering around the single and double digits, that means you only have 1 or 2 hits left.

My record is 2.079 3.276 km.  See if you can beat it!

So do none of you like this game?  Or is it just that no one here has tried it yet?

The latter I'd strongly venture.  Assemblee is vast...and on my end at least my backlog even vaster with it factored in!  Also I tend to prefer to wait on v1.0's and such on things like these and 7DRL fare out of habit.

It looks interesting from the description, I added it to the queue of games I'll try out when I get some time. :)
(A cross between a roguelike, a RPG, a platformer, and a shoot-em up? Seems a richer mixture than Spelunky...)

This game looks very nice from your description; I'll install and try it as soon as I have an hour.
What I enjoy the most in roguelikes: Anti-Farming and Mac Givering my way out. Kind of what I also enjoy in life.

I like the concept. The game is addicting and challenging.
I am sure that if elaborated with many other roguelike elements it could become a great game.

Well I have some good news then - random events have just recently been added to the game.  They do things like alter gravity or change the speed at which the screen descends.  They start showing up at 1 kilometer, and get more severe at 2 kilometers.  What exactly happens at that point, I don't know yet.

Edit:

Good news for you too!  Version 1.00 just came out!
