You are trying to convince hardcore roguelike developers that some not-roguelikes are in fact roguelikes. Good luck with that.

I wasn't expecting a concession, it is an argument on the internet after all. I just disagree and wanted to say my piece.
People don't have to be convinced, and they probably wont be from just a few posts on a forum.
But if I don't say something I think it's going to be nagging at me until I do.

Also as a hardcore roguelike player, I do like a challenge.

My favorite anime is Cory in the House.
My favorite dog breed is Clydesdale.

You see the issues there? Same damn thing with lumping roguelite and roguelike into the same category.
