v165

Mysterious as ever, but I want to say there's at least some new classes and races buried towards the top of the giant Wiki page's "outline"~

Hello everyone. Does anyone know a way to increase the size of the font? I even looked at the source code, but it looks like there is exactly one font in use, and it seems it is only displayed as pixel height only. So it is way past my technical ability to change. I am also looking into NotEye and Vulture as possible options.

Thank you for reading. Have a nice day.

Problem resolved. Anyone playing this game should do this too. http://www.geoduckthings.net/nhack/nhack.html
*Edit* My mistake. See below.

You can't use Geoduck with SLASH'EM Extended - the game doesn't support tilesets. In order to change the font size, check the settings of your terminal emulator; it is not being set by the game itself.

By the way, current version is 1.9.3, and while I admit that the wiki page doesn't give a lot of information about what's new, the project's Github repository shows all the latest changes in chronological order: https://github.com/SLASHEM-Extended/SLASHEM-Extended/commits/master

The game can also be played on the em.slashem.me server by connecting with a telnet program (example: PuTTY), port 22, SSH connection. And the #em.slashem.me IRC channel on Freenode can be used for game discussion, there's usually always at least a few players online. :)

You are correct Amy. Thanks for the help. I do not know what I did that made my default command prompt look better, but your suggestion elsewhere about using cmder is the best advice I could ask for. I left the font as it was and changed the font size to 40. That is a nearly perfect fit for a 1080 monitor. (Anyone who does this should disable transparency. It looks awful with transparency.)

Here is a link to cmder. http://cmder.net/

Thanks for the advice, and thanks for making such a great game. I counted, there are 137 races and 97 roles. And I could be mistaken, but I think a few more exist in the game than on the wiki. So there may be more than I counted.

You're welcome OmniNegro :) Are you using an up-to-date version? The current one has 116 playable roles and 155 playable races, and should display "Slash'EM Extended version 1.9.3" when using the v key in-game to access the version information.

I am. I check the GitHub daily since it seems you are adding all the time. My count is from the Wiki. And I know for a fact there are some races and roles in the game that are not shown on the wiki at all. I just counted in the game, your count is correct. (Not surprising.)

You know, the only game that even comes close to the level of options as Slash'Em Extended is Poschengband. I love both of them. Keep up the good work!

Version update: 2.0.0 now! :) The Github repository has all the changes listed, but I also made an announcement post on Reddit with a shorter summary here: https://www.reddit.com/r/nethack/comments/6dfmbo/slashem_extended_version_200_just_in_time_for/ - lots of new content has been added!

Nice, congrats on landing this rather big milestone considering especially the complex interworkings of this project!   8)

Version 2.0.1, and there is also a new server at hardfought.org which it can be played on! However, the em.slashem.me server is still available too. Now, lagless play is possible for players both from Europe and America! :)

Version 2.1.7 has been released and is playable on the hardfought.org server. We're in the process of updating the em.slashem.me server as well.

Also, something that the community has desperately been waiting for is now finally there: a changelog! It is incomplete and only goes back to version 1.7.8 or so, but if I find the time for doing it, I'll add older stuff to it too :)

At last, I released version 2.50! There's a huge amount of changes, including some that hopefully make the game easier and less of a slog - that's why I'm officially calling 2.50 the "Easyness Edition". Of course that doesn't mean it's "easy" now, just easier than before ;) Anyway, the changelog is in the usual place: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/SLASHEM-Extended/SLASHEM-Extended/master/history2.txt and it can be played on the em.slashem.me and hardfought.org servers, plus there's also up-to-date offline binaries of course! Have fun!

Version 2.60 is released, now with even more playable roles and races, and the changelog has also been updated to show what's new  :)
