Sorry about that! Simple oversight, I should add some more links.

I have read your article about the term "Procedural Death Labyrinth"... but I do not agree it is self-explanatory ("procedural" is too technical, some concept of "death" appears in almost any game, and "labyrinth" would not include FTL, since its sector are not really that maze-like). Also, false positives are not taken into account in the chart -- Civilization and similar games fit the "procedural death labyrinth", for example, and so does Elite (well, it is similarly labyrinthine as FTL), or Asteroids. Bomberman-likes fit too, but maybe it is not a problem.

Tanya X Short complains that the term Roguelike incorporates too much at once, but it is exactly why we are using it -- it is a set of features which work great together, but do not work well alone (random/procedural and permadeath are the most important ones, but even they are also just approximations of what we actually mean).

The voting is over and results are up: http://proceduraldeathjam.com/content/pdj-results

Golden Krone Hotel got 2nd (or tied for 2nd) for categories 'Best "Procedural"' and 'Best Berlin-Interpretation Roguelike'... though you'd only see that if you go into the individual categories and sort. I'll have to check out some of the winners. The overall winner was "Lamp and Vamp" which sounds hilariously similar to my game in some ways.

I must confess I didn't participate in voting at all. The thought of playing anywhere near 50 games in a week seemed impossible. I've seen people on youtube/twitter playing all the games, but clearly they weren't spending a lot of time with them. One youtuber did 1 minute per game, which was barely enough to read through a couple of my intro screens. I counted around 160 votes in the overall category and since you were allowed to vote for 25% of all games in each category, that could be as few as a dozen people voting in the worst case.

I rather appreciate the 7drl reviewing by comparison. It takes longer, but you're at least guaranteed several hours were spent carefully considering your game. And you get detailed feedback. Many of these games in PDJ haven't received any votes at all.

Rogue Station ended up getting the award for 'Best Berlin-Interpretation Roguelike', which we're very happy about, but honestly no clue why we'd win that over Golden Krone Hotel, which I think looks and feels a bit more roguelike than what Rogue Station does. Not complaining though :-)

Well, the category was "Best", not "Most", so if both games qualified as Berlin Interpretation roguelikes, then it doesn't matter which one exceeded that standard - the better game wins!
