I need someone that knows ALL rogue-like games!

I used to play a rogue-like game way back in the day and i would like to try to find it and play it again. It seems it will be very difficult to figure it out because i have forgotten the name. But i do remember some of the characteristics. I remember the main page was a choice of scenerios, one was a mountain and one was a cavern I think(Only one was available and the other said it was in currently under construction). Then you would choose your name and class(Mage, fighter{or warrior}, and cleric). And then you would venture forth and work your way down. I remember fighting balrogs, orcs, kobolds, ect ect ect but it was not a tolkien name i dont think.

Not a whole lot to go on i know but if there is anyone out there that might have an idea or anything about what it might be that would be awesome!

PS also there was mainly white ansi. It might have all been white in fact.

Could be some variant of Larn... Larn is indeed quite old and it has two locations (dungeons and volcano).

Larn doesn't have character classes.

1.Telengard
2.DND
3.Dungeons of the Necromancer's Domain

They are all basically the same game. But the last two are ascii/ansi graphics. DND came first. Then I believe was DotND, then Telengard which only had one dungeon, so that probably isn't the one you are looking for. But it is based on DnD and even created by the same guy. It has glorious 4 color graphics too!

They aren't true roguelikes I suppose by most people's definition, but I consider them part of the genre. Very good games as well.

I recommend downloading Dungeons of the Necromancer's Domain and then downloading the maps from DND in the DotND format so you can basically have both games in one.
