perhaps we can run roguetemple comps? I know theres the angband comps and they run em on the adom brinkster forums, but whatabout here? this forum is for all roguelikes so how about comps for different games? I'm only slightly proficient with adom (getting more and more into da `bands) but I need incentive to win...that or I'm doomed to YASD every game :P

It's a cool idea indeed, although I *never* win at any RL :P

But still it would be pretty interesting! We could run some competitions on different games each time.

We could also find the best roguelike player in general category. In a match of A against B, A gets one point for each roguelike where he had more success than B, according to the judges. This could be score or achieved depth for losers, and things like diversity of character choices, challenges completed, short time etc. for winners (roguelike score is only good to measure characters who have lost, for those who have won it rather measures munchkinness). (All Moria variants count as one roguelike because there are too many of them ;)).

That's a pretty nice idea, I already put one competition over the "Running Roguelikes" board (DrashRL) :)

Is anybody willing to propose another competition? just so it doesnt feel like the whole idea is to promote Drash (which it is not)... (Also, I want to participate :))

I think so, looks like Corremn won the other day:

Quite a few people have won of the something awful forums as well now.

A competition is a great idea, Incursion does not take very long to finish at all (if you are lucky), so it is perfect.
I will however abstain from this one because I have unfortunatly spent to much time already playing it, I have much work to catch up on ;), otherwise I would organise it instead.  Good luck!
