What kinda music is that?

Me, depending on the mood of the roguelike, I may listen electronic music (DeadCold, GearHead), or Ultima music (Rogue)

Ah, the classical "what do you listen to" thread... ;)

I usually listen to Heavy and Power Metal, although I might sometimes listen to some game OSTs or remixes. The band I listen to may vary depending on random factors.

You could also say it depends on my mood. :P

I've been listening a lot to new Nightwish album Dark Passion Play. I think they really got it this time. The album is full of cool songs.

I usually listen to a mix of rock and metal, mixing between them, althought Im discovering many great new bands these days, but sometimes I just settle for some good gaming MIDI music :P Love the Doom, Final Fantasy and a few other ones ::)

Wow, I've heard a fair bit of Nightwish (never really an album, just some loose songs), and I dislike the two new albums in comparison to what I had. I read some reviews today, but there's no consensus. Some people really like it, others don't. It's becoming too mainstream in my opinion.

I don't think playing a roguelike affects what I'm listening to (not that I've played a lot of roguelikes recently - no time). It usually depends on my mood and what I want my mood to be :)

Of course you haven't played a lot of roguelikes recently. Else, you wouldn't be one of They Who Are Too Busy ;P.

On topic, for some reason I keep listening to Elegacy and Angel Dust a lot lately. I think they are pretty cool, even though they are (very) little known. Also, Saratoga and Warcry hit my playlist very often now, but they are more known here in Spain (at least between the metalheads :P).

Hey, I'm from Portugal! Right next to you! I'll try to get my hands on some Saratoga and Warcry if you try to get your hands on some Hyubris and Aenima! They're not very heavyheavy, but darkish. Aenima is what I think people call "dark ambient" or something. Hyubris is more metallish, and in Portuguese. Awesome. *drools* You can find Hyubris on youtube, singing a Zeca Afonso song - quite beautiful (yes, they're on playback, but that's because the show wanted it. There's some other videos of them live).

I have a couple of albums from Saurom Lamderth and Mago de Oz, they're nice bands! Don't listen to them much anymore though.

It's becoming too mainstream in my opinion.

I don't think Nightwish or heavy metal in the first place is mainstream music. And I don't care if it is. It's good and I like it.

The new album is alright (I own all of them), but it's a drastic change from their earlier stuff, obviously due to having a new singer.  The strange thing though: I can't figure out which album is my favorite, since I like each of them for different reasons.  Dark Passion Play just doesn't FEEL like Nightwish though.

Oh...we're supposed to be ON topic? Pft.  I don't have specific roguelike music, but lately I've been listening to some synthpop stuff.

Reviving the topic!!

I just put my ipod on random and kick it. I got many different types of music so its always something different. Acid-rap, hiphop, g-rap,hair metal, classic rock, progressive rock, metal(various types),country western, modern country, classical orchestra, opera, jazz, blues, horrorcore , and like 2 techno songs but i got more jungle. I probably forgot a few types but oh well
