stupidest thing youve ever done on a roguelike

you know those things that you do and think, why the heck did i just do that? im pretty sure you have, we all have. now my question is... what to you deem to be the stupidest  thing youve done in a roguelike. please include which roguelike this was.

here is mine on DoomRL

i was walking around with a chaingun feeling BAAD, so i decided to attack whatever came near me... i mistook 9 explosive barrels for enemies, as you could imagine:
me: HA... IVE GOT YOU NOW!!!!

*gunshot*

BOOM BOOM FOOM BOOM BAM BAM

random guy: oh look a penny!

BAM FOOM FOOM


i didnt die, but it was very close

Agreed, EliG. I've lost more characters to stupid fountain deaths. On the flip side of that though, I've also found it's often a good way to gain something of value (like a wish).

are you talking pools? i cannot recall running into any fountains in the roguelikes ive played (rogue, nethack, TOME, and ADOM)

There more games with fountains that pools, IVAN and incursion come to mind, I am sure there are more. Pools only occur in adom IIRC.  Any way pools/fountains/sinks are all the same thing. 

Stupidest thing I have done lately in a RL was one of my own, since thats all I have been playing lately, buts that is for another time

It's a Nethack reference. Nethack has fountains.

Dungeon Crawl has fountains also.  they're harmless as fars i know. 

heres something i once did in ADOM to my immense chagrin.  rather high level character returning to one of the starter dungeons, couldnt say why.  i stepped on an evil shrine with some pansy level-one orc in my LoS:  "the orc raises his arms and invokes [evil god]! you are consumed by flames!"  didnt know they could do that.  orc mustv gotten one serious piety boost.

I did that also, lost a pretty good char!!!!!
