Roguelike Magazine finally dead?
« on: October 01, 2007, 12:14:44 AM »
Hi,

what's going on with Roguelike Magazine? The third issue was supposed to come out in May. What a pity. I've liked it so far.

I remember I was on the beach and travelled to a neraby town in that date, just to check the new issue....

Mr. Donick seems to be pretty busy, which is a shame :(

A rougelike magazine would have been an awesome idea, too bad it was discontinued  :(
I hope something like this springs up or an updated rougelike blog would be cool if anyone knows one  ::)

The roguelike magazine went the way of a lot of roguelike projects, I wonder if the main reason these projects die out is because noone gives feedback.  I am guilty here, I liked the site but never gave it any feedback.  What every roguelike project needs is a champion, someone who is always ready to say, good work keep it up.

I hear the Temple of the Roguelike keeps you posted in roguelike releases  ;D

And dont forget rec.games.roguelike.* newsgroups which can be accessed by google groups http://groups.google.com.au/groups/dir?sel=33610186

But dont forget to come here first, because this is the main idea of this site, to attract people who like this centralised/forum approach.  And I see it is getting there, good work keep it up Slash and team!

I always wonder if you guys(you guys being the people with front page posting power) don't post all the patch releases/new releases that are announced cause you dont want to spam us, if so I'd prefer you to just post them all anyway. Alternately If you can edit posts and its still on the front page you can just edit your title and post to reflect the updates.

I second this suggestion.

The idea is to create a light-weight "wire" for this kind of news, and keep using posts as they are used now. Will try to create some time for it this weekend. :)
