Anti-racism and science
« on: July 14, 2014, 08:53:07 AM »
Anti-racism is becoming a problem in science, because people are creating assumptions that try to avoid anything that could be racism. For example Naqada II period in Egypt was clearly influenced by people coming from Near East, most likely from Sumer (since they were much more advanced than other people in that area). Yet egyptologists "agree" that the development was mostly indigenous. They try to avoid saying that indigenous (african) people were too dumb to develop the advanced culture that ancient Egypt was going to be. But evidence shows that there were more advanced groups of people and very often indigenous people were degenerated back to simpler way of life when the advanced influence didn't exist anymore. This happened to ancient Sumer, Egypt and a whole lot of other cultures.

The broader point, that social justice sometimes stands in the way of... let's call it unvarnished discourse... is important. But this is not the place, and Krice most definitely is not the guy. With respect to the sanctity of the temple, I hereforthwith suggest a topic lock.

You don't seem to have actual arguments that would disprove what I wrote.

If you truly wish a discussion on this topic, I suggest a more appropriate venue such as: http://forums.philosophyforums.com/.

Most people have the sense not to entertain such discussion.

Some even go as far as claim that ancient egyptians were black. It's simply not true, because ancient egyptians themselves thought they were not black, as their southern neighbours nubians were. Well, ancient egyptians were not white either, but you get the point. Anti-racism can be as dangerous as racism if those people forget facts.

All the people who were forced to reply to Krice, and to make something out of a nothing post, please stop making drama out of nothing.  By responding to something like this, you are a participant.  If you don't respond, then no-one participates and it either doesn't happen again, or it gets ignored and goes away as soon as it arrived.

Stop making it about yourselves, and stop it being a problem.
