7DRL subforum
« on: March 19, 2013, 10:03:21 AM »
Just wondering if we should have a separate forum for 7DRL chatter?  At the moment it's spread between Early Dev Feedback, Not Jet Majors, Development and Announcements.  A new subforum under "Playing Roguelike Games" could be appropriate.

Maybe it would go more appropriately under Development? 7DRL's aren't usually the types of games that have a high playtime to devtime ratio...

We definitely need a 7dRL subforum. I feel sorry for any non-7dRL stuff getting posted right now.

I've been putting my reviews in the Early Development Feedback portion because I think that by definition a game made in seven days is in Early Development. Jo has been putting his in Not Yet Major Roguelikes because he considers successful 7dRLs to be full fledged complete games. While I'm leaning towards my side of the argument, he's not entirely wrong.

In either case, we could really use a whole 7dRL section for announcements, updates, feedback, and general chatter.

I would also say a special section would be handy, especially going forward as I think we can be optimistic and say next year stands to be more akin to this year versus some catastrophic fall to the level of a few years back---momentum!

I agree, a 7DRL forum would be cool. I'm sure it would be low volume, but it would still be cool.

I said it in another post, but we should have a "Challenges" board with a 7DRL sub-board. That way any other challenges people want to run throughout the year could be posted there. Would be fun to take part in a small challenge every now and then, with themes on top of the obvious RL requirement :P

Added 7DRL and Challenges board under Playing and Dev.

Edit: also moved around topics  bit, just to serve as a model of the style of post that will go on each board. SOrry for any inconvenience

Is it possible for each of us who posted a 7DRL topic in the existing forums to go and move it to where it needs to be now? Or will you have to do that yourself?
