Any Vampire Roguelikes?
« on: February 15, 2013, 03:33:00 PM »
Im looking for a singleplayer (no party) vampire roguelike. I read up on a few years ago (before I was into these games) and was wondering if there were any with similar graphics to cardinal quest. That would be cool as im into vampire the masquerade and the whole spiel.

This has got to be one of the most interesting genres/category for this genre.

Kornel of DoomRL and such fame sort of had one as a prototype from ages ago that he literally dug out from somewhere awhile back---that would be ideal if he ever manages to revisit it from the sound of your tastes.

Thanks for that. I went to the page and it looks awesome and right what I want. The only problem is that there is no download to it. I'd like to try it out but Im not sure its available or will ever be :(

Indeed, as far as I know, it remains a tantalizing relic with no public availability.

That said, I'm not privy to the inner secrets of the Chaosforge stable, though I can surmise there are surely one or more secret projects about.  On the other hand, there might well be merit to coming up with a Bounty for restarting the project on the bounty board as a way of forcing the issue to gauge interest in a more direct way---the next version of DoomRL shall benefit tremendously from that last funding drive when his dev machine and such died awhile back.

Time, or somebody badgering him with cash, will tell---outside of the above CastlevaniaRL which while well developed has gone defunct, he's be literally the only one attacking at this genre in the Roguelike context.
