Alpha (more like tech demo) release of my RL - 0.1.0

Tentatively, the name is "The Legend of Siegfried"... since there's not much content as of yet, this could easily change.

The single greatest influence on the game is JADE, closely followed by ADOM.

(Windows only, at the moment, since I don't have time to compile for Linux and OS X;  if anyone is interested in doing that, send me a message.  The source is C# with the only external lib being Sdl.Net)

I would like to hear any comments/suggestions anyone has to offer, especially about the interface, since I usually don't care about bad/unusable interfaces, unfortunately.

A lot of the mechanics are temporary, such as the formula used to determine successful hits, etc., so feedback about game balance or whatever really isn't useful at this point.  I am trying for a largely ADOM-ish feel, although eventually I plan on pushing the gameplay far beyond simple fighting and spellcasting.

In any case, I would love to hear anything you guys have to say about it.

I can't run the .exe with WinXP, I receive an error (Application not initialized).
What I enjoy the most in roguelikes: Anti-Farming and Mac Givering my way out. Kind of what I also enjoy in life.

Requires the .net framework 4.0, so check if that is installed.

I downloaded and played this a bit, and I must say, it is quite playable for a 0.1.0 release. (much more so than the 0.1.0 release of JADE---let's hope that changes soon) Thanks for doing bug checking before releasing this. I had fun playing this and killing the goblin chief. The one strange thing I encountered is that the "human villages" found on the world map are completely empty. I am looking forward to improvements and new releases. Some things I would like would be the addition of shopkeepers, and more items. Right now you can find gold, but there is nothing to use it on.

Being a big ADOM fan, I really enjoyed this; keep up the good work!

I downloaded this to try it out, and it looks very promising. I have played it twice now, and had fun even though I died around the fifth level of a cave each time.

A couple highlights of my game:

At one point, I hit the save key, and then almost suffered a heart attack as the game became “Not responding,” for a few seconds.
I followed the trail of blood from a wounded hobgoblins to find it. ;D
I finally died with the message, “Something hurls something at you! The rock hits you. You are killed! Press the (return) key to quit…” Definitely an epic tale of adventure.

Even with the current functionality, it still allows for a fun and enjoyable game. Can’t wait for more.
