Fenrir's lupine features are contorted in a toothy scowl.

This makes me more than a little angry to the point where I've removed myself as his fan on Facebook and will never return to his website again. Am I overreacting? Perhaps, but his game, for which I DID manage to register with NO error message, isn't particularly entertaining anyway. What do you folk make of this?

EDIT: Erm, "your browser game" meaning "HIS browser game"; I certainly wasn't implying anything about your game Slashie. I'm actually rather addicted to Pixal, which you can see if you check my Pixal profile.

It does seem a tad random, even considering his descent into a bit of hand-wringing upon gaining more traction from the games he has had out over these past years.  I would reckon it sensible to challenge his notion via blog comment if it particularly riles ya moreso than a cold drop, but much like expecting random passerby to mention if something is working or not within an obscure niche---pretty well dumb luck and circumstance.

Keeping perspective and drive is important.  I mean, you don't see me really flying off the handle in the Project Roguelike Renaissance thread, and others, where I ACTIVELY bid for input and such on things even when there are a string of such instances.

Perhaps it just comes down to knowing what your ultimate aims are with a series of projects versus morphing the goal lines and retroactively applying them as things happen in the course of things?

I think one must get used to the idea that ones projects are much less important to other people than to oneself. So I'm not surprised that noone reported the problem to him. People either assumed someone else would have reported it already, or that a buggy game like this is not worth their time anyways.

I see this often with my own creations (projects and otherwise) - it's super important to me, I'm proud on an achievement, I post it on a forum - and no one cares.

These days too many people and projects compete for the attention of other people. Only the very good and the very bad get a noticable amount of feedback I think. If it's fair enough, people don't bother to write something in response. Most people are busy and pressed for time. Others are lazy. Many just don't care.

Thus it's important that you like your projects yourself and can stay motivated without much feedback.

A couple of years ago I used to report all those bugs and problems I stumbled across in games and other projects and learned a valuable lesson in return. People don't want feedback, people want praise. In terms of bugs, often when I reported those I got no reply at all and the bug remained active for months, other times I even get a slab of insults. So in the end, my motivation to report bugs and provide feedback has been completely deconstructed.

It is kind of funny, considering that the most elementary error logging would have told him the same thing in less than two months.

*Shrug* Who cares what he is, what site he has, etc. etc. He's not even accusing people, he's just raising afew questions. On his own blog. I don't see any problems :)

His fault, for incomplete testing, or inability to create a playtester base :)
