Bionic Dues Source Code May Be Released -- Thoughts?

What is Bionic Dues? It is roguelike by Arcen Games. Arcen Games is  small inde studio  who developed unusual games such as AI War, Last Federation.

One of that games  is Bionic Dues. Despite developers called it Roguelite, by Berlin Interpretation it is true Roguelike.

In short Bionic Dues is turn based roguelike about player controlling  and upgrading small mech suits. This roguelike focused mainly on ranged combat and misson structure with randomly generated global campaign and missions.

Develper now is out of hands to contitue support of Bionic Dues. Mainly becaue company has other games to support and develop.

To continie support of of Bionic Dues developer start to thinking about releasing source code to community in some form.

Game has potential to evolve.

start to thinking about releasing source code to community in some form.

They needed thinking way before they were creating a commercial roguelike. But if it's any good, then open source it, don't just talk about it dudes. Releasing to open source doesn't mean someone will continue it, more often nothing happens. The number one reason for this is that most projects have poor quality source code.

Bionic Dues is a puzzley 4 robot RPG roguelike. If Chris Parks releases the source code, it will be because the project has ended. His code is probably pretty good. I know the guy and he's a perfectionist, and Arcengames always makes interesting and evolving games where the developers listen to the community and changes things way beyond release windows etc.

Arcengames are trying to make a living (they're currently embroiled in making a space RTS AI War 2 a reality, I can't see them open sourcing this, because a user on Steam requested it. Chris is an open guy, if things make sense to do so, he will.
