Portable Roguelikes
« on: July 01, 2007, 04:29:40 PM »
Hello people///

Is any of you playing portable roguelikes recently? do you know any roguelikes/roguelikish games apart from dweller and powder?

I am evaluating the possibility of acquiring a PSP... any changes I could get Java running in such a machine? is it homebrew friendly?

May I direct you here http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2506095
this is a good thread for psp homebrew stuff, how to do it, what you need, and what is available. It seems that at least tome and angband are on it, and you could emulate gba to play Powder on it to :)

I have a DS. I think it is better for playing roguelikes mainly for the touch screen, that can come really handy... I hope more developers start developing for the DS!

Right now there is POWDER, Nethack and Crawl. I'd love to have Angband too...

Here is more info on the DS scene:

http://nintendo-ds.dcemu.co.uk/nintendo-ds-homebrew-games-35334.html

...emulators for the DS, homebrew games, etc. That page is actually for Nethack DS, but you can take a look at the menu on the left for lots of more things ;)

So come on, devs, start porting already! :P
