Gamergate
« on: October 16, 2014, 09:40:10 PM »
I think the main idea in gamergate is realize that everyone involved in it, none of them are gamers actually. They are just average people who want their share of internet fame. They use games and stuff to get it. When you look at Anita Sarkeesian's videos (well, I've probably seen one and not even all of it) you can see she doesn't really believe in that crap she is telling. It's sad, really. And everyone thought nerd gamers are sad, but no, there are worse people than that.

I, for one, agree with most of the points raised by those "nerd gamers" but don't give a shit about this drama because I:
a) stay away from gaming journalism, because it was clear it's biased even without those leaks
b) don't play mainstream AAA games, so this "feminist influence" doesn't affect me in the slightest
So gamergate along with "discrimination of women in games" etc. is pretty much a non-issue for me.

There is a roguelike where you can choose a girl as pet. I think it was a japanese roguelike.

I think mainstream gaming has changed too much from what it used to be. And gaming journalism.. really. I don't know why it has to be that way.
