Help needed forking Angband variant
« on: December 24, 2011, 05:04:35 AM »
NOTE:  Please forgive me if you've seen similar messages on other Roguelike forums lately; I've been trying to reach as many coders as possible, but don't intend to spam you.  :-[

For the past several years, I've been trying to get a Norse-themed Angband variant past the "info-file hack" stage; I've had plenty of great ideas, but very little programming skill--some rusty Lua that I picked up doing modules for ToME 2, and C++ at the "hello world" level.  Some interested coders have already helped me begin translating the ideas on my to-do lists, which led to a crash-prone alpha version (see the links at the end of this post).

Unfortunately, the original coders have moved on to other projects; I'm searching for willing and interested programmers who can help make my ideas playable.  Here is the to-do list I originally wrote, organized by priority (and marking off the changes that were already made)--

If you'd like to contribute to my variant (and get devteam credit when a playable release is out), feel free to download the uncompiled source code here--

A Windows compilation (still very buggy) is available here--

Thanks for your time, and Happy Holidays!

Why there are done items in to do list? Why they are in pdf format?
