I was happily playing Dawn of War: Dark Crusade when my desktop suddenly shut down. I think the CPU's fried, because I tried to boot it using the built-in graphics card to no avail. It won't even beep at all. I removed everything, cleaned it thoroughly, applied some heat paste (whatever's that called), I would have applied some of that to the GPU too if it's little fan didn't seem so reticent to removing. Talking about removing, the CPU was almost *glued* to the heat sink! I hadn't removed it before so I was: well, I've unscrewed it and everything and it's still in place? wtf?
I'm writing this on a laptop that's made from two identical laptops, both 6 years old. One had a fried motherboard and the other one had a crippled keyboard and a malfunctioning screen so I decided to fuse the two laptops together.
How the f*ck can my gaming computer, bought a year ago, give up its ghost this very night while *this* (my laptop) lovely piece of junk is still alive and kicking? Jeez. That CPU has a three year warranty!
