Dungeon Exploration

Most of your time playing Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon will be spent in vast dungeons full of Pokémon! The dungeons can be dangerous, but there are many rewards that await those who explore them. If you can get all the way through a dungeon, great rewards may be yours. But if you faint, you may have to return all the way to the entrance of the dungeon and you’ll lose your items and money, too!

New!
The Game Goes On!

There's a lot more to see and do once you've completed the main story. Play more difficult dungeons and take on more quests in an effort to befriend every known Pokémon, including Legendary Pokémon!

Awaken the Power of Mega Evolution!

By fulfilling certain conditions in dungeons, Pokémon will Awaken. Pokémon that are Awakened will have their power greatly increased and some Pokémon will even Mega Evolve!

Infinite Dungeon Designs

The floor plan of a dungeon is randomly created every time you enter, meaning you'll never take a trip through the same map twice! A map on the Touch Screen will automatically fill in as you explore each level, so you'll know when you've been down every path. The Pokémon you'll encounter in a particular dungeon will remain the same on each trip, but will appear in new locations.

Dungeons have a variety of environmental features, such as lakes and streams. And keep a lookout for devices—like triggers and traps—that have unknown effects on you and your party members. Don't be afraid to find out what happens when you step on one!

Turn-Based Actions

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games, each move happens one step at a time. After you move one space or take a single action, such as attacking, all the other Pokémon will take their own actions in turn. If you don't move, nobody else will either, meaning you have all the time you need to think through your battle strategy.

Battling Pokémon

Most of the Pokémon inside dungeons will attack you when they spot you. Be prepared for battle at any time! Move toward an enemy Pokémon to attack it, and then be prepared for a retaliatory strike if you don't knock out the target Pokémon!

Pick Up Items

You'll find items scattered around dungeons everywhere you go. Many items can be used as weapons and will come in handy during battles. There are many kinds of valuable items to help you make your way through dungeons. Some items will help heal your Pokémon when they're hurt, and some items can be thrown at target Pokémon.

Watch Out for Traps

Stay on the lookout for traps inside dungeons! Traps are unpredictable, but watch for ones that damage your Pokémon, affect your stats and cause status conditions, or send you flying across the floor! They're one more element that makes each trip into a dungeon a unique experience.

Know the Right Moves

Each Pokémon can learn up to four moves. These moves have power, type, and characteristics similar to attacks in the core Pokémon games. Carefully consider the moves you and your team of Pokémon have as you work to bring victory that much closer. Also, the more you use a move, the stronger it will get. And the benefit from powering up a move will be available to all of the Pokémon who know that move!

Looplets Give Boosts!

You can give your Pokémon special items called looplets to hold. Looplets provide your Pokémon with particular bonuses. Then, you can attach emeras to looplets to provide additional effects to the looplets, making them even better! But note that the emeras you obtain in dungeons will disappear once you leave the dungeon.

Alliance Attacks

Join together as a team to attack as an Alliance, letting all three of your Pokémon attack a single tough Pokémon in one turn!

Befriend Many Pokémon!

Use the Connection Orb you receive to take on quests from other Pokémon. If you're able to successfully complete a quest, the Pokémon who offered it will often befriend you and join your team. You may also bump into key Pokémon during these quests.

Early word has this being a return to form for the series---so good deal.   8)
