Set in a realm of danger and darkness, the 9th Wizard: Rings of Eternity is a Rogue-like Adventure/RPG. Utilizing randomly generated dungeons, hundreds of items, monsters and quests, the game strives to provide a fun experience that is true to the genre. With much of our engine complete, we are now looking to polish our gameplay, mechanics and include all original artwork. We are working with Chiptune artist Comptroller to ensure that the experience each player has is unique, intense and fun. We are actively seeking community feedback and support. We will be releasing development videos each week, with supplementary articles and updates. Our goal is to create a fun game that incorporates the comments and ideas of the greater community.

So an upcoming Roguelike soon to enter moreso public Alpha doings.  In a nice twist, they are shooting for weekly VLOGS with transcripts.

http://www.indiedb.com/games/the-9th-wizard-rings-of-eternity/news/9th-wizard-rings-of-eternity-vlog-102  more game-play footage, our major goals for the game, and how Chiptune artist Comptroller is working to develop our original soundtrack. We also give you a sneak peek at some concept art, and we've got free music-track downloads as well.

They seem to have put some thought into this, and definitely place a higher value on the Audio part of the equation than the outstanding majority of projects----it'll be interesting to see how this shakes out and hopefully they can keep their weekly video pace.   Their only other project as an indie outfit, near as I can tell, was some manner of match-3 puzzler---so this is quite a step in another direction here.

Wow that's pretty neat. Chiptunes are fun to listen to but one must be careful. They can get a bit harsh sounding. Rough and harsh. This guys sounds like a pro though.

Matt takes you into his process and methods of creating game art. This video focuses on the heads up display (HUD), which is a crucial element of the game. He also introduces you to the difficulties of rectifying the genres basic style and his detailed images. This Video features game music, created by the Chiptune Artist, Comptroller.

Shows the major changes and new isometric view.

Fairly surprised to see the change to isometric, but things like this will probably contribute to the project standing out moreso as time goes on.
