Who in here has played this awesome game?

It has its downfalls, such as shitty pre-rendered player dolls (some are nice, though, like a dwarf in a smoking)
and being a bit cumbersome, but it's one of my all-time favorites, and probably *the* game I like the most in terms of fluff. It also has a really nice and proper "character sheet", a la real paper-and-dice RPG.

Also, steam power armor ^_^1

Just pimpin' an awesome game.

Awesome game.. and also superb soundtrack (download it here http://sierrahelp.com/Assets/Music/Arcanum/)!
What I enjoy the most in roguelikes: Anti-Farming and Mac Givering my way out. Kind of what I also enjoy in life.

Steam-powered armor + man + (beard + 'stache) = I'm going Googling for a demo + I hope it runs under WINE.

I downloaded that soundtrack sometime ago  ;D but it's nice to have the reference here.

... a demo?? c'mon ;););)

A fun fact of the awesome portraits is that there is one (a half-elf I think) that looks almost *exactly* like Jose MarĂa Aznar... the spanish president in times of the Iraq invasion. I made a lowly, bigoted (sp?), evil necromancer with that face  ;D but my favorite characters were tech-dwarf and tech-ogre. The tech ogre was specially challenging to advance, because they have an upper intelligence limit of 16, and in order to buy the more advanced technical degrees you have to drug yourself up with some intelligence booster; and buy a lot of technical manuals to actually use them most of the time, but the character was very rewarding. I ended up killing a lot of gnomes after unraveling the half-ogre island sidequest... creepy as hell.

Also, the Molochean Hand ends up being really funny X_D they're so useless. I still have the feeling that I have seen what, 30% of the game? after three or four characters? it's ripe with ace moments, thick fluff, and ACTUALLY MEANINGFUL DIALOGUE!

@Fenrir:
Steam powered armor, Tesla cannons, four flavors of mechanical axes, the Magnetic Inversion Chapeau, capitalist conspirations, red herrings, and a FUCKTON of followers and minions of all kinds, recruited, raised, built, summoned...

I played the Demo (~10 years ago) and loved it.  The fact that you could go down the magic or technology tree was great.  IIRC if you had too much technology your magic failed and vice versa.
I really wanted to get this at the time, oh well....
