Ok, I am pretty sure all of you have read the
Roguelike article over wikipedia.
The article has been debated for deletion before, and I feel there is a need to enhance it so it shows off better what roguelikes are about.
Here are my points:
* History is stranded on the past, lots of things happened after Moria
* Branching roguelikes into Hacklikes, *Bands and overworld just doesnt feel right to me, and may contribute to reduce the notability of the genre (Are there really hacklikes apart from nethack? are the rest of them nethack-likes? why not add ADoMlikes, DoomRLLikes, etc... for me, the only branch that still applies is the *bands one)
* I am not sure how good it is to show the example map picture
* Features may be merged with the roguelike definition from roguebasin (as a side note, the roguebasin definition still lacks some things, like the Item discovery process)
* Popularity must be extended to include all the blogs and websites that discuss roguelikes, including the @play column, the angband.ooz
* Legacy: The PnP RPGs based on roguelikes are not really notable, are they?
What do people think?
