Not sure if this is the right place for this topic, but it's not about actually playing the game yet, since it is not out at this time.

Anyway, with the release of Torchlight less than a week away, I thought it was time to make a topic just for that game.  Who plans on checking it out, and what are you most looking forward to about it?

It's not going to be as deep as your typical "traditional" roguelike, but it looks like it makes up for that (if you even consider that bad) in looks and charm.  I just hope my computer can eek out the juice to run this one.  it will be close either way, I'm sure.

Edit:  Oops, there is a big difference between noW out and noT out.  What a typo!

I do remember that the eye of the beholder games were very good, but my memory has died on me, were they turn based??

No, they were realtime.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned SSI's own Dungeon Hack game.  It uses the Eye of the Beholder interface, but with random dungeons.

This game definitely adds a very nice and fluid presentation to the roguelike formula.  I know some people don't care for such a thing, but I think it's nice to see it.  The genre has to evolve sometime.  I know there are games out there with giant budgets and wowey 3d graphics that have roguelike elements, but I don't really consider those true roguelikes.  This game is a true roguelike, though, IMO.

Not to be mean or anything, but the whole idea of a roguelike is that the dungeon is randomly generated each game.
