Could we have a progress report on this?

I am wondering if people downloading 0.1.0 in the last few days are coming from here. it seems the most likely place actually

Well I missed it.

When 0.1.3 comes out I would suggest putting a news item in RogueBasin (See http://roguebasin.roguelikedevelopment.org/index.php?title=News ) and posting in rec . games . roguelike . misc and/or rec.games.roguelike.announce.  (The latter is moderated and Google groups doesn't seem to work very well with it).

I think I have fixed everything I wanted. All the things are linked to in this thread :) In this package you have to replace the C program and the Perl script.

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup inconveniently includes a html link in the 'updated' field.  The database output includes a spurious ] at the end of it.  Same thing with GearHead2, Beggar and ChessRogue.

But I guess you haven't updated the data since the last time yet?  Maybe you've already fixed that.

I have a project underway, namely to update Angband/64 by using the latest code from Vanilla Angband.

At this point what I need most is people to play the old game and submit tickets (or post comments) about things that are different to Vanilla Angband and need implementing in the new version.

I have a SourceForge site, but at the moment there is nothing worth downloading.  I am in 'pre-alpha' state so all there is there is a slightly modified Vanilla Angband copy that probably won't work right.  ;D

If anybody is interested, please post in this thread (or PM or email me if you want to keep it quiet for whatever reason (??).

I have been a bit busy, however I will try to run the update script...

If I remember correctly you supplied me with a C file and a python script, can you send me the latest package with the fixes? /(Or should I while a bit more until you correct them?)
Hmm, this could be my fault.   :-\  I (re)introduced "theme" and now "released / update" into the Angband templates, maybe it's choking on them.  Although there are a half dozen games with 'genre' field given and that didn't appear to faze it.

Looking down the list of List of roguelikes by theme there are only a few active *band variants with significant deviations from the standard 'Fantasy' theme, so (in retrospect) that wasn't necessarily a great move.  I think people will like knowing how long games have been around so I think the 'released / update' dual field should stay.

Also, my copy of IRLDb (the link in my signature) is updated.
It's not picking up some roguelikes (e.g. Anime Angband).  I'll post in more detail later (probably).

[Edit] Ditto for DaJAngband and Discworld Angband.  I'm sensing a theme here. ;-)

[Edit x 2] In any case I've updated a whole bunch of pages on RogueBasin so I suggest you do a reload.  :P

If you don't have an automated way to do so, it'll be a pain to keep up to date ;)
Not that bad actually, I estimate less than one change per day (now that I've done the basic work).

When the Internet Roguelike Database is updated it will automatically get the latest information from RogueBasin - but somebody has to put the information in RogueBasin in the first place!

I recently put together a list in RogueBasin that (I immodestly claim) is the most comprehensive list of recently released and updated roguelike games. (I did, however, exclude 7DRLs as there are rather a lot of them).

http://roguebasin.roguelikedevelopment.org/index.php?title=Recently_Updated_Roguelikes

My major sources of data where the Temple of the Rogue news, RogueBasin news, newsgroups, the IRLDb and the list of Actively Developing Roguelikes.

There are 91 games in the list, covering all update/releases from 2008.  I hope that will be enough for anybody to find something interesting. ;-)
