QuickHack version 1.2.0 is now available at https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B6oeeUZo0SLSTDhDMDZUbWR4eUU

The main features introduced are the ability to save, and master traits.

Saving works like in the old Zelda games; when you start, you pick which file you're playing on.  However, it's still permadeath; your file is erased when you load it.  You can suspend it, but not continue.

Each of the classes has its own master trait, which is available at level 15 and beyond.  Master traits make your special ability more powerful in some way . . .

As always, feedback is greatly appreciated, and thank you to everyone who has been supportive and helpful so far!

Traditional Roguelikes (Turn Based) / QuickHack 1.1.8
« on: July 12, 2012, 03:11:38 PM »
Let me just start by saying you guys are awesome.  I wasn't planning on doing any more work on QuickHack, but the community has been very positive and supportive, so I'll polish it a bit.  I haven't quite finished the saving yet, but that'll be in 1.2.x.

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B6oeeUZo0SLSR0lRSVVIbGJPRW8

Version 1.1.8 Includes:
* Full screen/window resizing support
* Visual feedback when equipping items and leveling up
* Greater item variety available at start, items renamed to reduce confusion
* Two new enemy types
* Smarter AI (sorry; there's enough ranged guys now they had to stop shooting their friends . . . )

Thanks for all your support, and please let me know what you think!

So after numerous false starts, I decided to just knock out a quick, fun project.  This is it.  I spend a few weeks, and here is the result.  Aside from any minor fixes that are needed, this baby's done.   Let me know what you think!

Programming / Web Hosting

So, I'm getting pretty close to putting my project up for download, to get feedback from the community.  I'm at a playable demo stage; step 12 of the popular "How to Write a Rougelike in 15 Steps."

However, I'm not entirely sure how to go about putting it up.  Does anyone have any advice on how to publish a download site?  Specifics would be very helpful.  I'm not looking for anything super flashy, just a place to download from.

Also, I have no money.
