Traditional Roguelikes (Turn Based) / IfRL 7dRL Released. And a call for beta-testers.
« on: February 10, 2010, 08:29:58 PM »
So, I made a 7-day roguelike. It also happens to be a work of interactive fiction. Finally, the two great genres of ASCII video games unite. Er... finally?
It's a little bit barebones, but it was my first experience with the insane 7dRL development schedule. I have, in fact continued to develop the project since the end of the seven days but, in the interest of keeping true to the 7dRL spirit, I will not be releasing the extended game as a new version of IfRL. Instead, I am growing it into a new, larger game. Hopefully this new game will draw more heavily on the unique strengths the interactive fiction environment can bring, while maintaining a strict roguelikeness.
If anyone is interested in helping me beta-test my continuing efforts, please get in touch with me at: frank@256k.org
In the meantime, please enjoy IfRL: http://256k.org/IFRL
