Woo, always glad to see this game get updated -congrats NON on another release.

However I'd like to express one small complaint: Any reason why you decided to go with only 3 presets for character creation? I rather enjoyed creating my own doomed character each time -anyhow it won't stop me from playing just my two cents!

Classic Roguelikes / Re: Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead

A great roguelike all around.

I'm also not a fan of the tile set, I'm too used to the ASCII now.

Wow that's great news! It always bummed me out this one died.

Awesome! I was wondering when you'd release your next game, just played it and I'm already very excited for the full version. Will definitely be watching this!

Also, could you explain how Karma and the (what I assume to be) god statues work?

Darkwood is a top-down, old school survival horror set in a procedurally generated, open world. It features RPG and roguelike elements, with intense combat and a eerie atmosphere. It's developed by 3 people, who like to call themselves Acid Wizard, and is currently in pre-alpha stage.

This one looks fairly interesting guys. A very different looking horror roguelike-like with permadeath and a random world. They're currently about 10% of the way funded, check it out!

FUNDED, with the first big stretch goal achieved!

So, who played Eternal Darkness for the Gamecube?

A new company, Precursor Games, is attempting to create a spiritual successor in the same mood, Shadow of the Eternals, through crowd-funding. If you like Infra Arcana (or Lovecraft stuff in general) you should check this out.

I've been thinking about this for a couple of days now.

It strikes me that most of us who play roguelikes really don't care about graphics at all, many of us even prefer ASCII, however I'm wondering what roguelikes people consider to have the best visuals, and by that I mean in the traditional "good" graphics sense AND/OR in the sense of what roguelikes have graphics that best fit their theme.

Personally, I think Infra Arcana has the best near-ASCII graphics I've seen in a roguelike, its simple, elegant and fits the dark theme of the game. What do you guys think?

Traditional Roguelikes (Turn Based) / Re: Infra Arcana v14.0

So that would be:
'w' - handle equipment (currently 'v')
'i' - browse backpack (same as the current command)
'e' - use items (same as current command)

?

Actually 'w' instead of 'v' does sound more intuitive! :)

Exactly! However, like Legend said its really not a big deal. Learning new key bindings is second nature to most of us now.

How would you have it instead? Who knows, maybe I'll find your way better.

A more classic style:

'w' equipping and unequipping armor, gear and weapons.
'i' for inventory management

That sort of thing.

I'm curious, what do you want to change the keys to?

Nothing big, I find pressing 'v' for the equipment and such to be awkward.

Wooo!  ;D So glad to see this game get updated! Gotta say I'm outta practice, I keep getting ripped apart in the first four levels...

EDIT: This just occurred to me, NON is there anyway we could have configurable key bindings at some point in the future?

For some reason the idea of fighting hell bears sends chills down my spine. Also, ditto to what Vanguard said.

Oh, that's awesome, I wondered what happened to Cataclysm. Did Whales start working on a new game or did he just get sick of Cataclysm?
