Other Announcements / Re: Acquiring feedback for your roguelike project
« on: September 02, 2010, 05:07:47 PM »
Sorry to stray off topic at hand, but the other thread was closed.

I don't understand why people are so disgusted by a Serial Killer Roguelike. People should understand that everyone has thought about how it felt to hurt someone else. Not because they wanted to do it, but just for the lulz. I mean, in your dreams, especially if you're lucid, you do stuff you wouldn't even dream about (figuratively).

I think video games are the best outlet to do whatever you want. I'm glad someone started to actually make this since the other one was a hoax.

Also, A BLOODY SERIAL KILLER GAME! AWESOME!

Wow, you're still going! I think this thread was the one who made me join a while back.
You seem as dedicated as the Dwarf Fortress devs. I hope you get as much appreciation as you deserve and good luck :)

Am I high? I don't see where to actually download it. It says I can download it in the attachment below, but I don't see the attachment :(

I concur!

Saw this on the Indie Games blog! I almost jizzed by the idea of an roguelike serial killer simulator (says a lot about my psyche).
Then I read that it was inspired by Dwarf Fortress, I went "ZOMGBBQSAUCE", and then I saw the trailer and I shot my load.

I revived my account just to show my appreciation to this. Please, for the love of my self, release a demo in the near future.

Also, I'm glad seeing so many Bay12 people here. I'm a semi-regular lurker on there :)

Wishing you success in all my drunkenness and highness (:

Looks nice. Fun seeing ascii characters integrated into the interface like that.

Edit: Was awesome ^^

Has anyone tried Tachyon: The Fringe? Not a rogue-like, but was awesome. Somehow reminded me of this, although it's partially storyline oriented.

IVAN or Iter Vehemens ad Necem has this feature :)
And ofcourse, Nethack.

I hardly knew any of those games, since I'm fairly new.
I just voted for Zelda, even though I had a gut feeling that it was far from the best.

Thanks, guys ^^

Funny, seeing such quick reply's. Then again, you are the most active members ^^
Privileged. I'll feel right at home :)

Btw, saw your Rennaissance thread, Getter. Never seen such dedication before. Kudos :3

Thanks, OMNOMNOMNOM

Wow, someone needs to make a Chuck Norris oriented roguelike :O
It would flying roundhouse kick ass!

Except, Chuck cannot die. Being him would be too easy, being against him would be impossible :/

Posted my introduction in the wrong thread, so here we go again ^^

Pretty new to the roguelike scene. Found Nethack on an indie games' website a year ago or so. Played a few other roguelikes as well, including DF. Took a hiatus from them for a while. Tried IVAN again a few days ago, started checking the communities behind roguelikes, hoping for updates to games. Thought I should join the community.

You guys seem like an awesome bunch, so I decided to start here :)

Oh, and my name? Goes way back, don't ponder on it too much ^^

As of 2010, it's still up.

Wondering if any web archives cache entire websites, videos included?
