Classic Roguelikes / Re: Spelunky: How Deep
« on: February 20, 2009, 02:00:57 AM »
I started playing this game last week (bouncing between this, Incursion, Stone Soup, and brushing up on my C++ skills) and I like it a lot so far. It has the quick, pick-up-and-play addictiveness of DoomRL. Haven't gotten past the jungle. Haven't even gotten the first shortcut constructed (blast you, dart traps!).

This description seems like 'Liberal Crime Squad', but I have not played it, so I don't know whether it fits.

Liberal Crime Squad is it. Thanks!

Hey, first-time poster here.  ;D

I've been looking for a particular roguelike for a while now. I've searched all of the rougebasin's lists, and I've searched high and low using the power of Google trying to find it, but alas.

The game's goal was to overthrow the government by subverting the police, the media, and so forth. The player could recruit people, assign them tasks, and then go out on missions. You could craft items, steal from people, recruit more people, etc. Your headquarters could be raided by the police, too. Members of your team could be imprisoned and later would be released from prison.

It wasn't a typical roguelike in the sense that you didn't go into a 40-floor dungeon, but the combat and setup was quite "roguelike-ish".

Any help would be appreciated!
