Long time roguelike player, first time 7DRL.  Had an idea rattling around in my head for a while so I figured, why not try it out during the competition?

A Legend Handed Down is all about legends and how they grow.  Specifically, there is very little character progression during the game (you level up and gain HP, but that's about it).  Instead, your actions create legends that apply to your descendants (subsequent playthroughs).  Even magical weaponry works that way - if your ancestor slew a hundred orcs with his spear, you may find the legendary spear Orcstabber in your travels.
