Haven't yet seen one of Kornel's games that I haven't loved. Favorites are DoomRL and Berserk!.

I discovered the genre through NetHack, but I've discovered I don't care for that level of complexity.

I play HARP, and I'm working on publishing a licensed campaign setting for their upcoming HARP Sci-Fi release. It's a good game system for sword-and-sorcery fantasy-- if you don't mind gritty-- and it handles most semi-realistic heroics very well.

Been known to play D&D every once in awhile, too. Probably my favorite game is White Wolf's Street Fighter RPG-- the best game to ever die so young.

I'm a direct care professional, dealing with people with intellectual disabilities. I've also got a part-time job, and I'm trying to start a business as a professional game designer and writer.

I think my own mental picture of the possible lists of spells is fairly incomplete, and without that it'd be hard to describe such spells in consistent terms. Feedback and related thoughts are much appreciated.

It would be almost impossible to code every logical combination of spell components unless you were working from a very limited, specific set. On the other hand, this idea is certified 100% pure natural awesome-- and would be very interesting even with a very limited, specific set of spell parameters.

You should probably look at the spell creation guidelines from a few tabletop games to get an idea. I know that Shadowrun and HARP would have very useful rules to examine, and the Epic Magic system from 3.0 D&D would be a good source as well.

DoomRL brought me back into the world of roguelikes, after years of not playing much of anything.

It's still what I go back to.
