Title: You Di3D: possible new Ethereum smart contract based roguelike
Post by: Skeletor on August 03, 2018, 07:36:25 AM
Not sure if anyone here has ever played Ethereum smart contract based games (like the infamous horrendous cryptokitties), but they are now getting popular as most of them offer players a way to earn some money (how many players can actually make it is another matter..).

There's a team of smart contract devs called Team Justo which recently released Fomo3D, sort of a pyramid / gambling / lottery thing which attracted several million $ of capitals in a few days.

Their new project apparently is going to be a roguelike called YouDie3D, still based on ethereum and smart contracts.

Team Justo is gaining worldwide attention with their games, and thus roguelikes will also get more.. possibly.

I'll update this thread once they release the game.

I'm not sure I understand, you can earn real life money with this roguelike?

Just another money-grabbing scheme for dumb people to fall into. It's no wonder aliens have not visited us, because we are this stupid.

Wouldn't say it's necessarily like Krice said as I personally made a 3x by getting early-ish in Fomo3D for example. However these games do tend to be high risk degenerate gambling - yes.
It's just relevant that for the first time one of them might be a roguelike; this is what team justo said back when I started this thread, but haven't followed their channel since then so not sure if they are still working on it.

My call by being in the industry: ethereum based games are intrinsecally shit due to clunky gameplay because of little scalability at present stage. Current layer 2 solutions suck.
Things might improve in the future, but right now the way to go is LAPPS or lightning apps based on bitcoin, not ethereum.
