Title: Is Finland the best country?
Post by: Krice on November 08, 2016, 10:00:45 PM
I think that sometimes. Is it the best we can do? (Or was it, we have became something else lately, more "american" I would say). This is a serious question, because there are things that makes me want to leave this country actually... but where? To somewhere even worse. Why this world sucks so much?

For new year's, I'm heading to Ă…land (if that counts), so I guess I'll see :) Regarding this:

Why this world sucks so much?
It's capitalism, baby.

I met a few interesting Finns last year. I wanted to visit Finland next year, but flights from Poland to Finland are much more expensive than flights to Norway and even Iceland, so... 2018 - Keflavik. Finland needs to wait until I got more salary to spend ;)

Btw, I met a girl, Irina. It is a russian name... And I'm wondering since then - what's Finns' attitude to Russians? Polish people are still biased agains Germans and Russians due Second World War, Partitions, and even earlier historical events. Do Finns feel aversion to Russians because Winter War?

Older people do, but I never experienced anything related to war myself. People at that time (at the beginning of 1900) were extremely "war-like" so in that context world wars were set up way before they started. But back to russians, I don't know any russians myself, but I think they are simpler than us. You know, like turks, who look like people but they are simpler form of humans. It's not their fault, they are what their ancestors were.
