Title: Marsh Adventure (7DRL 2016 success)
Post by: diego_cath on March 14, 2016, 07:04:58 PM
My game Marsh Adventure is available at: www.axaxaxas.com (http://www.axaxaxas.com)

It is a 3x3 roguelike where you play as a shapeshifting druid. There are lots of very impactful items which may completely change the way you play.

The grid is so small that every move can put you in a dangerous position. You can play very safe, using abilities just for sustain or you can take risks in order to improve your score.

The game might be a bit too complex, so here you have a few hints:
- chests appear on levels 1, 2, 3 - 5, 6, 7. Chests on levels 5, 6 and 7 usually contain better items.
- if you open a chest with your inventory full, the chest will have instant-use items that are a lot worse than permanent items.
- beast can spell-attack through roots... that's very important!

If you are exited about a particular build, or think an item is imbalanced, let me know!

Thanks for playing :-)

It's suprisingly (sorry mate, first impression wasn't good) good entry . I enjoyed this game much. Mechanics is quite original, controls are intuitive and transformation related things provides lots of fun. However, first board could be easier and later levels are more difficult because quantity of enemies rather than strenght of monsters...

Hey thanks for playing!

I've noticed that people have a very hard time trying to figure out the game, so maybe I should add a tutorial or something.

Also, I wanted to add a few more advanced monsters but decided not to because I was running out of time and also the game is way too complex already.

AFAIK reviews are not for general feedback - only jurors can submit them, and jurors know about this link already :)
