I appreciate all the great feedback I've gotten on the game! Threw together a small patch to fix some of the problems people have had with the game! Enjoy!

Fixed some visual glitches with the healthbar
Fixed the pause/death screens scaling weirdly when the window had been resized

The long- awaited update is here! Explore the caves and fight all kinds of new monsters!! I hope everyone has been enjoying the game! The preorder is now officially on sale, so you can save around 40% on the full game by buying it now. Or, if you're on the fence, play it totally free; I won't charge until the game is finished and polished. Oh, also the OST's on sale... that's over 16 minutes of video game jams for only $2 extra when you buy the preorder! What a deal!

-Adjusted the difficulty of The Dungeon to make it easier on new players
-All collisions are now PIXEL- PERFECT, making it easier to dodge and hit enemies

To clarify, the beta is still completely free! There's a quick blurb about this above the download links: The beta is free (just click "free demo") but the preorder is $3.49. The "demo" isn't limited at all, it's the full game(at least until the game is finished). So it isn't totally a paid game. Just wanted to clarify that. Thanks for upkeeping this thread!!

Balance
The knight armor now gives you +0.5 defense instead of +1
Changes to defense: A defense stat ending in .5 will round to either a 1 or a 0 randomly, making 1.5 defense sometimes reduce 1 damage and sometimes reduce 2 damage
Pandora's box no longer has a chance to drop items
The saw blade projectile deals a lot less self inflicted damage
Bugfixes
Fixed a bug where killing Gemini at a specific moment during its attack pattern could crash the game
Fixed fish enemies spawning in rooms you haven't entered yet
Fixed rebinding keys not working
Fixed getting stuck in walls in a certain room in the caves
Fixed drop shadows not appearing on all bosses
Fixed a bug where killing the wizard boss at the wrong time would crash the game
Fixed a bug where the slime familiar wouldn't come with you in between levels
You can no longer put a bosses' HP into the negative
Fixed the giant slime boss not spawning items at the end of the battle
Slimes now change color when affected by charm, slow, etc.
Frozen enemies no longer deal damage to player
Fixed a bug with charmed + frozen enemies
Fixed a bug where large slimes didn't always telegraph their attacks
Effect-on-touch effects are now pixel perfect just like sword and player collisions

Hey, everyone! Sorry for the few week hiatus, I've had some real world stuff keeping me occupied. Finally got around to compiling and uploading the bugfix patch for beta 3.
In the next couple weeks I'll be adding the epic final boss, as well as some cool minibosses I have plans for, to add variety!

After a pretty significant break from the working on the game, I've finally been able to return. Without any further wait I present to you the 4.0 update, packed with lots of new features and polish!

Added an epic final boss
Ghosts will now appear - fight previous iterations of yourself as minibosses!
Added 3 Alts: Rare alternate forms of enemies with high difficulty and big rewards
Added 20 new items, bringing the game's total to 150 items!
Added a new armor set
Coins now fly towards the player with pathfinding instead of getting stuck on walls
Added a new scroll type
Added an acoustic cover of the dungeon theme that will play rarely
