Stolen from Quendus. Every ten years the Quendian department of natural resources holds a lottery for one weeklong permit to kill one Jabberwock. Your uncle through his political connections obtained the permit for you. As part of this ancient test of manhood you have embarked with nothing but your bare hands and a brand new top of the line Vorpal Kill-o-Zap 3000 and will not return until the week runs out or with its head you come galumphing back

to defeat the first creature, lay a trap and then attack the creature to lure it into the trap. (or just shoot it)
How it might look: (made with advASCIIdraw)

Love it! Will you also be including snarks (see Hunting of the Snark (http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/13)), bandersnatches (frightfully fast, with extendible necks, according to HotS), jubjub birds (always in a passion, never forgets a friend, again according to HotS), and mome raths (whatever those are)?
As always,
Minotauros

Just leave the borogoves alone, they're too mimsy to die!
-
Ah, I knew I'd left something out! :)
As always,
Minotauros
Edit: Also, be on the outlook for slithy toves!
-
Yeah, those borogoves can get pretty stroppy when bothered.

Finished!

I've now finished.
Surprisingly for a program written under a time crunch, I really want to keep working with it.
Also even if no one likes it, I enjoy playing it.

Hey man if you like it that's what matters. Hobby game making is about you, making the games you want.
I fucked that up this year, made a game for other people, and it shows.

Various bug fixes to make it more pleasant.
added readme
tried to make it more obvious that you need to look with the mouse
critters look at your location this turn rather than last turns location
arrows do not scroll the page anymore
gun can be fired with enter and f in addition to mouse click, new message telling you that it fired
added pickup-able traps to level generation like intended to be
fixed it so you cannot look in locations beyond your view

Fixed the bugs identified by Griffon

staircases can't be overwritten
map dimensions reduced to fit the screen
map no longer scrolls with arrow keys

Liked the game a lot. Guys, you should definitely try it.
By the way, Hi, why don't you put this game online. It is JS+HTML anyway. So, everyone can run it without downloading.
-
I haven't put a lot of time into it yet but so far I like it. The visual style reminds me of Caves of Qud (which I mean as a compliment; it's not as busy as CoQ!)
-
The link is now broken! Does anyone know where I can still find it? This game looks really cool and I'd really like to try it.
thanks.
-
As far as I know, it was browser only. There wasn't a downloadable version. I did save a copy of the page so conceivably that might still work, though whether it can be sent is a different matter. I'll fiddle with it when I get home later.

Ok, the version I downloaded originally does seem to still work, even though it opens in-browser. I can try sending the files to you and see if it works.
