A cute game for my nieces.
A comic action inspired RL. Think Solomon's Key and other single screen grid arcade games, like Bubble Bobble and Bomberman. Turn based, permafail and procedural, of course.
Download it here: http://www.filedropper.com/thelittlestprincess7drl2014final
Screenshots: Note the coding is to show that yes you do need to know how to code to use Gamemaker.

Design Goals:
-Playable by casual gamers.
-Arcade and RL mix.
-Graphics. [my skills are low here, but not entirely nonexistent]
Gameplay: Get the key. Get to the door. Repeat. You can freeze the gnomes but not the ghost. Hearts = Lives.
IMPORTANT: The rooms wrap like Pacman. Go off one side and appear on the other side.
Contols: WASD to move, arrows to place/break blocks and freeze gnomes, press any other key to wait. Easily mapped to gamepad.
NOTE: You can press enter to see the various ways a level can display itself. The blue blocks change as well as the gnomes, the rest stays the same. So it's only semi procedural, like Spelunky or Binding of Isaac.

I'm definitely going to pay some attention to this. :3

Nice idea. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Thanks guys. It's not going that well, to be honest, but I think I can pull it off by Sunday.
I already had to ditch the animation, and my graphics are very rushed...we'll see. Halfway through like this it's hard to tell.

It's fun! That was my goal this year. Fun and approachable. Simple arcade style.
It works!
The next 2 days will be all sound, maybe some animation, squashing whatever bugs I find, etc...

Okay. I finished. There might be a bug or two, and it's not as pretty as I'd like it to be, but it's done!
