Title: I'm going to start reviewing Single Author Games any suggestions?
Post by: King Ink on November 11, 2013, 10:08:00 PM
These of course are games written by one person.
being rogue-like rogue-style is not important.
point me in the right direction.

Spelunky is a good one.

Brogue, Aliens, Infra Arcana, Powder, Prime (might be 2 people), Random Realms, Demon Hunt.

PrincessRL (http://flend.net/princessrl/index.html)

Mage Guild (http://www.lukossoftware.com/node/8) - The site is messed up right now, but if you scroll to near the bottom there's a working download link

Speaking of reviews, don't forget about IRLDb, a centralized place for roguelike reviews: http://forums.roguetemple.com/irldb/index.php?i=54d1b8&s=24.24. (it would be nice to post reviews there, or at least links to them)

Veins of the Earth are pretty much single author game, if you disregard Seb's contributions.

Are you the same guy who posted about a similar project on the Dwarf Fortress forums?

Anyway, how about the Space Empires series by Aaron Hall? The first three games were done entirely by him; the latter two (as well as the spinoff space RPG Starfury) were programmed entirely by him with help with music and art from others.
