Title: Found a Playable Version of Omega
Post by: King Ink on September 28, 2013, 05:10:39 PM
If it is not a major rogue-like then  you all suck.  ;)
 here it is  (http://freespace.virgin.net/davidk.kinder/omega.html)
by far my favorite rogue-style game.

+multiple winning scenarios.
+buckets of lizard parts.
+a completely obtuse inventory system.
+a play yourself mode.
+multiple concurrent professions.
+10 ring-fingers so 10 rings.
+make adom look friendly

now with tiles (you know for wusses  ;) )

This link`s unclickable, please fix. Apart from that, thanks!

For me these really old, forgotten games have an amazing vibe - and it has nothing to do with the oft ridiculed "nostalgia". Like opening a rare scroll found in some dank dungeon, the air of mystery and ancient heritage add greatly to the atmosphere of the game itself.

Where can I download the game?
I believe this (http://www.alcyone.com/max/projects/omega/#Binaries) is where I got it from.

Spambots are getting smarter :(
You can mostly tell this type apart by the use of "real" names, the thread necromancy, and the use of vague linkless sigs before they're "activated".

Well, holy shit, I didn't even suspect that was a bot.

Yeah, sometimes it is obvious, other times I give "it" a chance to prove itself before swift execution happens.

Wait... what? Has the bot been removed already? Or is it King Ink? Cause that would be weird. <_<
