ADOM (Ancient Domains Of Mystery) is one of the most successful roguelike games ever created, with downloads in the millions and many more every day. ADOM was the first roguelike to add a true role-playing experience to the roguelike genre, and boasts a brilliant mix of story, exploration, and intensely strategic and flexible combat. ADOM has been in development since 1994. In 2012 its development was revitalized with an immensely successful crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo (see the link to the bottom right).
ADOM is primarily known for being the first roguelike to include vibrant towns, NPC dialog, and quests, but it offers more than just a rich story line in a complex fantasy world:

Fancy Skulls
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=169885723
Fancy Skulls is a First Person Shooter with random generation where each enemy must be dealt with skill, wit and caution.
With random generation, the game is different every time you play it. There are no saves, which means that when you die, you will start over from the beginning. With permadeath implemented, each combat scenario becomes higher tensioned and each victory, more satisfying.
There are many useful items for you to find and these make each run feel like a unique experience. One run might have you recruit a friendly sentry while another gives you the polymorph spell.
There are 7 different weapons with non-linear upgrade paths. At the end of your run, you may be carrying a shotgun that shoots lightning, a SMG with burning bullets, a ray gun that does more damage when you have odd number of coins on you, and many more. There are over 50 upgrades and mods in total.
Game is still in abeta, so expect updates that will provide enhanced visuals, more content, game balance, as well as more features and increased overall polish.

Sproggiwood from the talented folks behind Caves of Qud 8)
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=268877801
Bring civilization to Sproggiwood, a story-driven, turn-based roguelike set in a world of mischief and wonder. Grow your civilization and unlock six unique classes. Each time you dive into a dungeon, level up a new character for an original adventure!
One moment, you’re a simple farmer from the peaceful island of Clog -- the next, you’re lured through a mysterious portal by a talking sheep. Now you’re the prisoner of Sproggi, a mischievous and mostly benevolent forest spirit. You have a simple job: tame the wild creatures that roam the forests of his world… or so he says.
Team up with Sproggi as you hack at giant slimes, dodge flying fish, and outwit angry goat-men. Plunder procedural dungeons for scrolls, potions, swords, and staves. Choose your favorite adventurer -- simple farmer, brave warrior, merry archer, cunning thief, brainy wizard, or creepy vampire -- and combine skill powers to blitz through dungeons in your own, personalized way!
Think you’ve got the hang of Sproggiwood? Now face off against a rival civilization on the rise to greatness. Sproggi has laid careful plans to unite Sproggiwood; will you choose to befriend these curious mushroom people and stand together, or will you crush them and claim Sproggiwood for your own? We Slay Monsters
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=279434323
We Slay Monsters streamlines traditional roguelike RPG gameplay and introduces a unique poker-esque card based combat mechanic. Each class (Wizard, Rogue, Warrior, or Cleric) has a unique deck of cards; using this deck you will guide your hero through the dungeon. Each dungeon is designed to play in short bursts, with a single dungeon taking 15-25 minutes to complete (or even less if your hero dies).
The Academy For Dungeoneering
In We Slay Monsters, the player is tasked with the rebuilding of the once prestigious Academy For Dungeoneering, famous for training generations of heroes, but long since fallen into disrepair.
The Academy is your persistent base that can be upgraded over time with gold earned by performing successful quests for nearby towns. Heroes may die, but your Academy lives on.
Features
Poker-esque card-based combat mechanic. Most hands that would be valid in poker are valid here, except the deck is made up of six suits instead of four, with face values from 1-10 instead of Ace-King. Flushes can be made with only three of the same suit, and any flush results in a super attack. Each suit has a unique attack ability.
Campaign against the Institute of Evil. The final game will have a campaign where you square off against the Institute of Evil, a rival school responsible for training evil beasts and strange bosses to take over the world.
Endless supply of recruits. Permadeath means a hero might die, but your Academy has an endless supply of new recruits willing to risk all for fame and fortune.
Over 35 monsters which can be unlocked. Each monster has unique abilities, and monsters are unlocked over time as you complete quests.
Early Access
We're planning on making the game available in early access. The iOS version of the game has already been through one round of alpha testing, and we're working on polishing and adding content as we work toward our projected launch in September 2014.
The game is fully playable right now with the first set of unlockable monsters and one class, the wizard, with random dungeons. The campaign is currently in development, as well as finishing the other classes and the rest of our monsters.
We would like to have a great degree of community involvement as we work toward our release. We've gotten some great feedback on gameplay ideas and tweaks from our current round of testers, and we want more!

Voyage to Farland
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=254338141
Voyage to Farland is a cartoonish but hardcore graphical roguelike inspired by the more brutal Japanese Mystery Dungeon games (think Shiren the Wanderer...) with a little Earthbound vibe thrown in and an art style influenced by Ren & Stimpy.
You are a wandering adventurer looking for your kidnapped sister. But to find her, you'll have to fight waves of strange monsters possessing even stranger powers including surly Nosferatus, walking Van de Graaff generators, sadistic cats on Catapults, evil Toy Robots and a strange creature called the Maskcad that removes its mask and sickens your character with its horrific visage. And that's just to name a few.
Along the way you will unlock hidden dungeons, including The Vial Trial, The Bot Subplot, and the ominously named Path of No Return. And never fear, eventually you'll even make it to "Farland".
Key Features:
• starter dungeon and 4 unlockable themed dungeons
• 4 NPCs you can recruit to help you fight
• rescue codes to save and be saved by other players
• mod the game with your own sprite sheets!
Fun things you can do in Voyage to Farland:
• get a pet robot you can level up
• befriend an outcast monster that will help you fight
• take on the challenge of the Strategy Dungeon
• build weapon & shield enchantments and store gear in a warehouse
Technical Features:
game save upon exit (but being "permadeath", you'll have to start over when your character is defeated)
movement & animated sprites in all 8 directions instead of being restricted to the cardinal directions
all equipped weapons & shields show unique overlay animations
Yes, Voyage to Farland is a tough-as-nails graphical roguelike game. But what's a roguelike, you ask? Most of you know - but for those who don't, it's a notoriously challenging dungeon crawler role playing game.
Fair warning: this game is NOT a grindfest or a hack-n-slash game. It's turn-based and succeeding requires keen strategy and perseverance. But you're up to the task and you have what it takes to defeat the Spirit Witch and unlock the hardcore dungeon, The Path of No Return. If you make it to the end of THAT dungeon, a surprise is in store for you. Five themed dungeons. Tons of monster types with devious abilities. Voyage to Farland will keep you busy for months to come.

Enemy
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=282476495
http://enemygame.net/
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tomjohnson/enemy
The video games you played as a kid, mashed together and remade into a tactical role-playing game.
Explore an open world where characters, items, and environments are an eclectic mashup of classic games.
Detailed turn-based combat system inspired by the 1994 classic, X-Com.
Realistic physics simulation and large, open environments allow for a rich variety of tactical options.
Permanent death ensures that combat is always tense.
Every time you start a new game, the game procedurally generates a new world, using decades-old video games as its building blocks. The result is a collision of genres, where haunted swamps, tropical war zones, and peaceful mushroom villages all stand side-by-side. You'll build up your own custom squad of retro game characters, with a mix of skills ranging from mental health and reaction time, to the use of blasters and the ability to jump five times your own height.
Enemy is built on a turn-based combat system closely inspired by the original X-Com and Jagged Alliance. You'll devise strategies based around the unique set of abilities you've chosen for your team, and then execute them step-by-step, all while responding to counter-moves made by the enemy. It models the stress of battle on your heroes, who can flee or go berserk if things start to go too wrong. Additionally, everything in the game is destructible. If you damage the supports of a building in the middle of a fight, the whole structure can come crashing down on you. Inadvertently starting a small fire in the wrong place can lead to being caught in the middle of a massive inferno. Combat is dynamic, and easily spirals out of control.

UnReal World 8)
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=249428292
Into the Far North we shall take you...
...as far as we can by the means of computer role-playing.
UnReal World is a unique low-fantasy roguelike game taking place in the Far North long, long ago.
It's a combination of roleplaying game and a survival simulation.
As a member of one of the nine different cultures you'll enter a detailed and enchanting iron-age game world in which northern folklore, knowledge and way of life play an important part. The world of the game is highly realistic, rich with historical atmosphere and emphasized on survival in the harsh ancient wilderness.
A wide world with vast forests, mires and mountains to roam and watercourses to row is randomly and procedurally generated - and you can live off the land and explore it on very detailed level. Track animals, set traps, hunt with bows and spears, tan hides, go fishing, pick berries, cook food, sleep in a temporary shelter or build a log cottage, trade with the villagers, craft items, interact with cultures near and far, etc. The game is completely open-ended and you decide whether you wish to lead a life of a fisherman, a hermit searching for the peace, a brave adventurer, a rough hunter, a trapper or a tradesman.
Throughout the years, UnReal World has been praised for its depth, realism, atmosphere and immersion.
For downloads and more visit UrW homepage:
www.unrealworld.fi
It's free to play. Current version 3.18 (stable).
***
The very first version of UnReal World was released in 1992. The game was a lot different back then, but still featured many ideas and style of computer role-playing we're working on now. Over the past 22 years we've seen dozens of stable UrW releases, and ever since 1992 this game of "fenno-ugrian fantasy" has been in constant development -- and still there is no end in sight to perfecting the game.
