Title: Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead
Post by: youtoo on June 28, 2013, 05:06:49 PM
Open World Zombie Survival game. Detailed crafting. Can do whatever you want. Lots more mobs than just zombies. Sci-fi elements. In constant development and open sourced.

They just launched a kickstarter to hire a full time developer (at a pretty cheap price). dont have to pay to play. They do nightly builds. Good wiki too.

Check out the kickstarter to atleast watch the videos. They encourage modders and they use GIT for the open source to role mods into the main branch.

Yeah.
Pretty brilliant, just needs some UI tweaking (viewport and font).
I especially love the crafting system.

I don't care for tiles / graphics.
I must be able to run it fullscreen though. Sadly, Z's brilliant "noteye" didn't work for this one. I'll try to get into it if I can get it to run fullscreen, seems cool :)

0.8 relased!
tileset and a lot more

I love this game, but when you learn to play, and get skilled and well equipped char, the game become a little boring cos final goal don't exist.

I enjoy it too, but it's not fun to sink 45 minutes into scouting out backbacks, food, water, books, only to get cornered by a fast monster and die automatically. The prep work is fun in anticipation of seeing your plans come to fruition, but most characters never really get to that point... I don't usually have 45 minutes to spend in order to earn the CHANCE to play a video game.

A great roguelike all around.

I'm also not a fan of the tile set, I'm too used to the ASCII now.
