Title: Why hasn't anyone done this before?
Post by: ekolis on June 23, 2013, 01:15:48 AM
A mobile app that is a font editor.

Seriously. Think about it. You draw the characters with your finger, and pinch to adjust the thickness of the stroke. It's a natural fit for a touch interface!

Just imagine what roguelike developers would do with a font editor that's so simple and easy to use...

Could be fun, but I'd imagine you'd have to be very skillful with a touchscreen to create a decent looking font.

Probably less tedious than doing it with a mouse, though...

Really? ... I mean... really???

Is a touch screen useful for anything other than playing angry birds or candy crush? I can't imagine doing extensive work involving pixel-wise image manipulation on it.

With my stubby fingers :D

Well, I meant for vector fonts, not bitmap fonts... :P

I think the point of using ASCII display for roguelikes is to avoid doing graphical design work...
