Advanced Rogue is one of the original Rogue variants, released in 1985. @Play has a good article (http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2009/03/column_play_xrogue_has_not_yet_ceased.php) on it. It introduced several new ideas, including using the same letter for multiple monsters, a choice of character classes, and a world outside the dungeon. Thanks to the Roguelike Restoration Project, it supports arrow keys.
You can now play online at rlgallery.org (http://rlgallery.org), either over SSH or through the Web app (http://rlgallery.org:8080). I've fixed a bug that caused lots of crashes in shops, and some others that drew prompt messages on top of the map.
There's still at least one crash-causing bug that I haven't been able to reproduce, so please report any crashes.
Have fun, and happy Roguelike Release Party.

Very nice---congrats on making the release party and even moreso the dedicated works to support keeping the classic progenitors alive and playable going forward.
