"Paper Sorcerer is a first-person turn-based RPG with adventure game elements inspired by Wizardry, Dungeons and Dragons, and Shadowgate.

Play as a renegade sorcerer as he struggles to escape the book prison and regain his powers.

Escape a magical prison filled with heroes hunting you down at every turn.

Strategy over grinding battles, with a charge based spell system.

Create a party of summons to join you as allies in battle.

Discover open-ended puzzles and solve them with a combinations of spells, items, and your wits.

Hand-drawn high-resolution sprites inspired by the work of late eighteenth and early nineteenth century illustrators like Aubrey Beardsley and William Bradley.

DRM-free for PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, and possibly Xbox Live Indie Arcade and web-browser.

All-inclusive game, promise to never make you pay for DLC content."

Looks pretty cool. An old school dungeon crawl with an interesting aesthetic and gameplay that reminds me of wizardry IV. And you get to play as the Villain!  ;D

Minimum is just $3 for the game. Hopefully it reaches it's stretch goal of $10,000 so everyone can get new levels, enemies, and summons. Already at almost $9,400. Only 39 hours left though.

I think Grimmrock fans may like it.

Nice but not exactly SSI-like.. no semi-realtime, can't strafe attack, can't throw stuff from far away, can't lightning bolt the shit out of a 100 skeletons room.. and things like that.

Don't think it was ever mentioned to be like the SSI D&D games. Reminds me the most of Wizardry IV.

As for strafe attacks and lightning bolts, I have no idea. Although it does appear to be turn based, I don't think it was specified.

The visuals definitely are cool.

I'm pretty surprised that a developer with (seemingly) no prior games smashed his goal pretty easy. Is this normal on Kickstarter these days?
